Bill Burke West Soccer Fields Officially Open
In cooperation with Salina Parks and Recreation Department, Salina Family YMCA,Salina Area Youth Sports Initiatve and the Salina Soccer Club, the Bill Burke West soccer fields were officially opened on Saturday, August 27th. The festival type event included an official ribbon cutting ceremony, soccer, volleyball and football games of skill, inflatable games, free food and prizes for the area youth who attended.
For added entertainment, the KWU men's and women's soccer teams played intersquad games.
A tremendous thank you to Tisha Keller, Betsy Wearing and Sue Lefort and Jane Bradbury of the Salina Soccer Club, for their help in planning this event.
If you plan to have your teams practice at the fields, be sure to make your reservations by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 309-5165 the Friday before your next practices.
E Level Licensing Coaches Clinic Scheduled for February 4th & 5th at Lakewood Middle School
Salina Soccer Club will host an E License Clinic for coaches in the Salina area on Satuday and Sunday, February 5th & 6th from 8:00AM - 5:00PM. The 2 day course offers knowledge for coaches in the area of drills, skills and risk management.
The cost is $75. The Salina Soccer Club will pay $37.50 towards the fee for those coaches who are coaching Salina Soccer Club teams. Go to www.salinasoccerclub.com to download a registration form from the 'clinic' link.
